Before launching Mazza Strategy, Bonnie served as the Associate Director of Nonprofit Strategy and Capacity Building at TCC Group, where she spent ten years leading strategy projects for nonprofits throughout the US, ranging from small community-based organizations to large social service agencies and national organizations. Bonnie also worked in philanthropic strategy and foundation management while at TCC Group, managing an in-house $120 million foundation and co-designing grantmaking strategies for a range of foundations.
Praised for her facilitation and knack for skillfully synthesizing large amounts of data and working within complex organizational structures—including associations and federated models—Bonnie has succeeded in helping organizational leaders identify opportunities to scale operations, increase funding, strengthen internal operations, and, most importantly, increase their impact.
Bonnie began her work in the nonprofit sector in pursuit of greater economic justice, beginning with ACCION USA, a national microfinance organization, and continued to explore issues of economic development and gender, both domestically and abroad with organizations including the Philadelphia Development Partnership, Pro Mujer, and Global Communities (formerly known as CHF International).
Bonnie holds a Master of Public Administration degree in Nonprofit Management from the Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service at NYU. Her undergraduate degree is in Women’s Studies from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, which included a semester in Kingston, Jamaica with School for International Training focused on gender and development. Bonnie also served on Nonprofit New York’s Nonprofit Excellence Awards selection committee for three years.
